Organization

The Production Engineering department designs, configures and modifies existing and new production resources and processes (high-quality assembly lines) for the production of turbochargers. Product and process development varies from further development to complete innovations. Existing production methods are continuously improved and optimized. The activities within Production Engineering are divided into teams or the disciplines: Mechanical design, Process engineering, Projects and Industrial automation. Around 40 employees work in the department.
The team you will work with consists of a Team Leader, 8 Software Engineers and 2 Hardware Engineers.

Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe (MTEE) is a global player in the field of turbochargers for the automotive industry. Did you know that we have a 20% market share in Europe? For automotive to be able to contribute to global climate objectives, downsizing (a smaller engine with greater power, possibly hybrid) is necessary. Function

New means of production must be functionally specified. The Hardware Engineer specifies, develops and optimizes electrical and electronic functions of the production installations. The role of the Hardware engineer in this is two-fold: you are, for the new production lines, the point of contact for all electrical, machine safety and pneumatic related issues. This means that you are responsible for design reviews and drafting specifications.
On the other hand, you are responsible for improving existing production lines, such as self-engineering the solution, devising the solution in consultation with the Process Engineer, Software Engineer and Design Engineer, developing the EPLAN drawing package and work preparation.

When purchasing machines (FAT) you will visit the supplier in the Netherlands, Germany or Austria to check if everything is correct as agreed. This will be approximately 5 times on an annual basis. You also assist external installers with the construction and commissioning of new installations. It may happen that you have to install it yourself, but these activities are generally outsourced.
In this varied position you will be 50% involved in drawing work in EPLAN and the remaining 50 ^% with work preparation, supervising installers and design suppliers and hands-on work on the production lines.
You will be dealing with a variety of techniques, including improvements on older production lines, but also the newest techniques on the market. You also get the opportunity to do drawings from home.

Requirements

  • At least a Secondary vocational education (MBO) level 4 in Electrical Engineering, Control Technology or similar
  • Experience with EPLAN is a must
  • Knowledge of PLC and electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of pneumatics is an advantage
  • Knowledge of machine safety is an advantage
  • Experience with a machine builder or assembly company
  • Competencies: communication skills, structured, accurate
  • Good command of the English language in word and writing
